Best Cat Window Perches: Sill, Braced and Suction-Cup

By TailTested Editorial Team · Updated · 5 min read

Zakkart windowsill cat perch, our sill pick, in natural wood with a gray bed

The cat window perches on this page mount in three ways: hooked onto a slotted sill, braced from below, or hung from suction cups. For a sill, the Zakkart hook-on perch, rated 4.7 stars from 6,070 ratings, needs no suction cups or drilling, its listing says. For a perch braced from below rather than hooked on, we picked a second Zakkart. For suction cups on clear glass, we picked the PEFUNY cable hammock.

The two Zakkart picks are not the same perch in two sizes: one hooks onto a sill, and the other is a frame braced from below whose listing does not spell out how it attaches to the window.

  3. Best Suction-Cup Hammock: PEFUNY Cat Window Hammock with Suction Cups (Beige) · Amazon

How we picked

We searched Amazon for cat window perches on October 25, 2026, set aside sponsored results and kept listings rated at least 4.5 stars on 1,000 or more ratings; 23 of the 58 results we scanned did, which is our search, not a census. We opened six and read the mount, the fit requirements, the weight figure, the bed and the seller. Two AMOSIJOY perches hook onto the sill the same way as our sill pick, which has more ratings (pooled across its L and XL sizes) and gives a sill-depth range. A Zoratoo two-pack is, like our braced pick, a cordless frame braced from below, on fewer ratings and with no weight figure.

A perch gives a cat height at one window; for climbing elsewhere in the room, see our cat trees for large cats. For a hideout at floor level, see our cat tunnel picks.

1 Best Windowsill Perch: Zakkart Cat Perch for Windowsill with Bolsters (Natural Wood/Gray, L)

Zakkart hook-on windowsill perch with a hardwood frame and gray bolster bed

4.7 out of 5 stars from 6,070 ratings on Amazon (as captured Oct 25, 2026)

  • Hooks onto a window slot at least 0.5 inch deep, on sills up to 9 inches deep
  • Bed 24 x 15 inches in the L, the size quoted here; the listing also sells an XL
  • Hardwood and metal frame, with a listed weight limit of 40 pounds
  • Bed comes off for a cold wash and low tumble dry; replacement beds sold

This is the perch for a window with a slotted sill: it hooks on without suction cups or drilling, and it has the most ratings of the hook-on sill perches we opened. That rating is for the listing, which sells both the L and the XL.

2 Best Perch Braced From Below: Zakkart Cat Window Perch, Metal Supported from Below (White)

Zakkart white metal window perch with triangular support arms underneath

4.8 out of 5 stars from 4,593 ratings on Amazon (as captured Oct 25, 2026)

  • Iron frame with triangular arms underneath, with a listed weight limit of 40 pounds
  • Assembles without tools, per the listing
  • Machine-washable bed with a sherpa-covered pad
  • 25 x 14 x 12.5 inches in the title; the spec table also gives 23 x 13 x 12.5

Zakkart's second pick is braced from below rather than hooked onto a sill; its listing names sunrooms, patios, French doors and window sills among the places it suits. It has the top star rating here, and it rests on arms rather than hanging from cables, which the listing says leaves the jump in unobstructed and keeps it from wobbling. How it attaches is the gap: the listing says only to attach it to the window and offers free suction cup replacements, so check the listing photos against your window before buying.

3 Best Suction-Cup Hammock: PEFUNY Cat Window Hammock with Suction Cups (Beige)

PEFUNY beige cat window hammock hung from suction cups and cables

4.5 out of 5 stars from 20,313 ratings on Amazon (as captured Oct 25, 2026)

  • Needs at least 25.6 x 23.3 inches of clear flat glass; sticks out about 14.6 inches
  • Three-inch suction cups and a 2 mm steel cable, which PEFUNY says hold more than 40 pounds
  • Removable fabric mat, plus flannel pads; machine wash, per the spec table
  • Sold as waterproof, the title says

The PEFUNY hangs from suction cups on the glass, and its listing is the clearest of the three on fit: it gives the clear glass it needs and warns that it may not fit narrow or small apartment windows. It has by far the deepest rating base here, on the lowest star rating.

What to look for

Sill, frame or suction cups

A hook-on perch needs a sill with a slot, and the windowsill Zakkart gives the depths it needs. The PEFUNY needs a clear stretch of flat glass. The braced Zakkart's listing does not spell out its mount.

Weight figures

All three listings give 40 pounds or more. These are the brands' figures, and none says how it was reached.

Washing the bed

Both Zakkart beds are machine washable, per their listings; the windowsill model's comes off for a cold wash and low tumble dry. PEFUNY's mat comes off, and its spec table says machine wash.

No drilling

Only the windowsill Zakkart says outright that it needs no drilling or suction cups, and Zakkart pitches it at renters and small spaces. The other two attach to the window, and neither listing mentions drilling.

The bottom line

  • Best windowsill perch: The Zakkart Windowsill hooks onto a slotted sill with no suction cups or drilling.
  • Best perch braced from below: The Zakkart Braced has the top star rating and arms underneath instead of cables, though its mount is not spelled out.
  • Best suction-cup hammock: PEFUNY has the most ratings and states exactly how much clear glass it needs.

FAQ

Which perch suits a large cat?

Zakkart says its braced perch is spacious enough for large cats to stretch out, and PEFUNY's title says large cats. For a bigger bed on a sill, the windowsill Zakkart also comes in an XL, 26.4 by 15 inches.

Can a perch go on a French door?

The braced Zakkart's listing names French doors among its places but does not say how it attaches to one, so check the listing photos against your door. The other two listings do not mention doors.

How far does a perch stick out, and will suction cups hold?

PEFUNY says its hammock extends about 14.6 inches from the window, and its assembly note says to press the suction cups firmly onto the glass until they lock. Neither Zakkart listing says how far it projects; the braced one is listed at 14 or 13 inches wide depending on the figure, and Zakkart offers free suction cup replacements for it.

Can I move a perch to another window?

The windowsill Zakkart, yes: its listing says it lifts off to move from window to window, as long as the next window also has a slot at least 0.5 inch deep. The braced Zakkart and the PEFUNY attach to the window itself, and neither listing describes moving them.

Can two cats share one perch?

PEFUNY says its hammock suits multiple cats or large cats. Neither Zakkart listing says. The weight figures are the brands' own (more than 40 pounds for PEFUNY, 40 for each Zakkart), and none says how it was reached.
